01 Overview A 1952 Silhouette
A self-tensioning wire skeleton wrapped in translucent skin — a pendant that glows like a cocoon and floats as if weightless.
Inspired by an iconic 1952 design, the Nelson Bubble Pendant is built around a lightweight steel wireframe that holds its distinctive silhouette under natural tension. A network of interconnected wires forms the signature crisscross pattern, wrapped in a soft, translucent covering that emits an organic, evenly diffused glow. Offered in seven sculptural shapes and nine size variants, it scales from a single statement piece to layered clustered installations — from dining tables to stairwells to hospitality spaces.

How it's made. Each Bubble begins as a lightweight steel wire armature that tensions into a self-supporting silhouette. A crisscross weave of wires forms the pendant's signature geometry, and a fine translucent skin — mulberry silk over the wire network — diffuses the bulb into a soft, honeyed, organic glow.

07 Installation Setup Notes
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for safe mounting, wiring, and grounding.
- Flat ceilings only. The ceiling rose requires a level mounting plane — sloped or vaulted ceilings are not compatible without a specialised adapter (not included).
- The standard suspension cable is 150 cm (59″) long. Longer or shorter drops can be supplied on request — ideal for stairwells, double-height rooms, or low-ceiling installations.
- Install an E26 or E27 bulb (sold separately). A warm white LED bulb (2700K–3000K) gives the most flattering, honeyed glow through the silk shade. Low-wattage LEDs (5–8 W) are recommended to keep heat output low on the silk skin.
- For dimming, pair a dimmable LED bulb with a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch.
- Handle the shade with clean, dry hands during installation — avoid pressing on or denting the silk skin, as the wire tension gives the silhouette its shape.
08 Questions Frequently Asked
How do I choose between the different models?
Each model letter (C, D, E, F, G, H, I) is a different silhouette — some ball-shaped, some elongated, some flatter and saucer-like. Models E and G are offered in two sizes. For a single statement piece over a table, Models F, H, and the larger E/G work well. For clusters or hallways, mix smaller models (C, D, E small) at varying drop heights. We're happy to advise if you share your space.
Can you make custom sizes or shapes?
Yes. As the manufacturer, we can produce non-standard sizes, bespoke silhouettes, and custom drop lengths. Please enquire with your specifications — dimensions, quantity, target ceiling height, and delivery country — and we'll confirm feasibility and lead time.
Do you offer a wholesale or trade discount?

Are bulbs included?
No. The Bubble takes a standard E26 or E27 screw-base bulb, sold separately. We recommend a warm white dimmable LED (2700K–3000K, 5–8W) for the most flattering glow and the lowest heat output on the silk shade.
Is it dimmable?
Yes. The lamp works with standard household switches and is compatible with dimmers. Install a dimmable LED bulb and pair it with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself does not have a built-in dimmer.
Can I install it on a sloped ceiling?
No. The Bubble is designed for flat ceilings only. A sloped or vaulted ceiling would require a specialised adapter, which is not included. For sloped installations, please consult a specialist electrician.
Can I request a longer or shorter suspension cable?
Yes. The standard cable is 150 cm (59″), but custom lengths are available on request — ideal for stairwells, high ceilings, or low ceilings. Please specify your preferred length when ordering.
Can I use the Bubble on both 110V and 220V circuits?
Yes. The lamp supports full-range AC 110–240V and is certified for use in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East — no additional transformer required. Pair it with bulbs rated for your local voltage.
Can I install it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Bubble is IP20-rated for dry indoor use only. The silk shade is sensitive to moisture — keep it away from bathrooms, wet rooms, saunas, covered porches, and any outdoor environment. Also avoid installing directly above steam-producing appliances.
How do I clean the shade?
Gently dust the silk surface with a very soft dry brush or a feather duster — a camel-hair paintbrush works well. Do not use water, cleaning sprays, or damp cloths, as these can stain or warp the silk. Handle with clean, dry hands, and avoid pressing on the shade.
Do I need a professional electrician to install this?
Yes, we strongly recommend a licensed electrician. The lamp is hardwired, needs a correctly mounted ceiling junction box, and must be properly grounded. A professional will also ensure correct dimmer compatibility if you plan to use one.
