Pendant System · Matchstick LED Terminals
01 Overview A Light You Compose Yourself

A pendant system of small black matchstick-like terminals, suspended on slim cables — a minimal, composable light that lets the user become part of the design.

Match is a pendant lighting system built around a single modular idea: small matte-black LED terminals, each the size of a wooden matchstick, hanging from slender suspension cables. The system is designed to be composed — configurations range from a single solo drop to twelve-terminal clusters, and each cluster can be arranged into strategic, architectural forms or deliberately chaotic, scattered layouts. The terminals themselves stay quiet; what changes is where you place them in space. The result is a light that integrates seamlessly into an interior rather than dominating it — decoration through negation, a constellation rather than a chandelier.

02 Configurations Six Standard Compositions
The User As Designer

Strategic forms, or deliberate chaos — it's yours to compose.

Match is built around a new idea in lighting: the end user participates in the creative process. Within each configuration, the individual drop lengths and the spacing of the terminals are yours to determine. Arrange them in tight, architectural rows for graphic clarity, or scatter them at varied heights for a loose, star-like feel. Custom cable lengths are available on request — please specify the drop length for each terminal when ordering.

Matte Black Terminals
Each terminal is a small lacquered metal and plastic housing — the size of a wooden matchstick, with a quiet matte black finish. The light source sits at the base, pointing downward in a focused cone.
Slim Hanging Cables
Fine suspension wire — finished to match the terminal — reads almost as a line drawing against a ceiling. Standard 150 cm length, with custom lengths available per terminal.
G4 Bi-Pin LED
Each terminal takes a G4 bi-pin base bulb — compact, directional, available in low-wattage LED. Delivers focused downlight through the small opening in each terminal.
Important — Bulb Voltage

Use AC 110V G4 bulbs — not 12V low-voltage G4.

G4 is the socket shape, but G4 bulbs exist in two different voltages — AC 110–240V and DC 12V (low-voltage). The Match terminals run on standard mains voltage and require the AC 110V version only. Installing a 12V low-voltage G4 bulb will damage the bulb immediately and may damage the terminal. When purchasing bulbs, confirm the label reads "AC 110–240V" or "mains voltage", not "12V".

Two critical notes. (1) Use only mains-voltage (AC 110–240V) G4 bulbs — 12V low-voltage G4 bulbs will damage the fixture. (2) This lamp does not support dimming — install only on a standard on/off switch circuit; dimmer switches will cause flicker, incorrect brightness, or damage to the LED driver.
07 Installation Setup Notes
  • Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for safe mounting, wiring, and grounding.
  • Watch the Installation video before starting — it covers canopy mounting, cable routing, and terminal assembly.
  • Flat ceilings only. The canopy plate requires a level mounting surface — sloped or vaulted ceilings are not compatible.
  • Install on a standard on/off switch circuit only. The fixture is not compatible with dimmer switches — confirm with your electrician that the wall circuit is a standard switch, not a dimmer, before installation. A dimmer will cause flicker, incorrect brightness, or damage to the LED driver.
  • Source the correct G4 bulbs. Each terminal takes one G4 bi-pin bulb, AC 110V (mains voltage) version — confirm the bulb label reads "AC 110–240V" or "mains voltage", not "12V". We recommend warm white LED G4 bulbs (2700K–3000K, 1.5–3 W) for low heat and long life.
  • Plan your composition. Within each head-count configuration, you control where each terminal hangs. Decide in advance whether you want a structured row, a grid, or a deliberately scattered cluster — the cables and supports allow any of these.
  • Cable lengths. Standard cables are 150 cm. To create varied drop heights within a cluster (highly recommended for the larger configurations), specify the preferred length of each individual terminal when ordering.
  • Install the terminals last. Handle by the housing, not by the bulb — each terminal is small and can be scuffed if pressed firmly.
08 Questions Frequently Asked
What kind of G4 bulb do I need — 12V or 110V?
AC 110V (mains voltage) G4 bulbs only. G4 is a socket shape, not a voltage — the same physical bulb base exists in both mains-voltage and 12V low-voltage versions, and they are not interchangeable. The Match runs on standard mains wiring, so it requires the AC 110–240V G4 version. Installing a 12V G4 bulb will immediately burn out the bulb and may damage the terminal. When buying bulbs, check the label — it should say "AC 110–240V" or "mains voltage". If it says "12V", do not use it.
Is the Match dimmable?
No. The Match is not compatible with dimmer switches. Install it on a standard on/off switch circuit only. Attempting to dim it will cause flicker, incorrect brightness, or damage to the internal LED driver. If you need dimming behaviour in the space, pair Match with a separate accent lamp on a dimmer circuit.
Which configuration should I choose?
Scale by room and intent. 3 heads works as a small hallway or side-table cluster. 4 heads suits an entry or small dining. 5 heads works for most dining tables and kitchen islands. 6 heads is a confident dining or kitchen island composition. 9 heads is a generous dining or open-plan composition. 12 heads is a statement cluster for stairwells, double-height spaces, and galleries. Within each head count, you also choose how the terminals are arranged — tight and geometric, or scattered and constellation-like.
Can I specify different drop heights for each terminal?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it — varied drop heights create the constellation-like compositions the Match system is best known for. When ordering, list your preferred cable length for each individual terminal, rather than accepting the uniform 150 cm default. This is especially effective for the 6-, 9-, and 12-head configurations.
How many bulbs do I need?
One G4 bulb per terminal, so the bulb count equals your head count. For example: 6 heads = 6 bulbs. We recommend warm white LED G4 bulbs, AC 110–240V version, 1.5–3 W each, 2700K–3000K for warm output.
Is the light bright enough for a dining table?
Each G4 LED puts out a modest amount of warm, directional light — the Match is designed for ambient and decorative illumination, not task lighting or high brightness. For dining tables, the 6-head or 9-head configurations work well for atmosphere; if you need task-bright light, layer Match with other lighting (wall sconces, a supplementary pendant, or ambient ceiling fixtures).
Can I install on a sloped ceiling?
No. The Match canopy requires a flat mounting surface, and the cables need to drop vertically for the composition to read correctly. Sloped ceilings are not compatible.
Can I use it on both 110V and 220V circuits?
Yes, the fixture supports full-range AC 110–240V and is certified for use in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Ensure the G4 bulbs you buy are rated for your local voltage (and are mains-voltage, not 12V).
Can I install it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Match is IP20-rated for dry indoor use only — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, covered porches, or any outdoor environment.
How do I replace a bulb?
Turn off the power at the wall switch and allow the terminal to cool (LEDs run warm to the touch). Carefully unseat the G4 bi-pin bulb from its socket — pull straight out, not twisted. Insert the new mains-voltage G4 bulb into the socket, pressing gently and firmly until seated. Restore power.
How do I clean the terminals?
With the power off and the terminals cool, dust the terminals and cables gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid damp cloths, solvents, and abrasive sponges — they can damage the matte lacquer finish. Handle by the terminal housing, not by the bulb or the cable.
