A modular pendant luminaire of eight different hand-turned ash wood elements — geometric forms that retain the natural charm of the grain beneath their colour.
Junit is a pendant lighting system built around a simple modular idea: eight distinct wood elements — each a different geometric form, each turned by hand from solid ash — combined into a single suspended composition. The wood is finished with a thin layer of colour and sealed under a clear varnish, so the structure of the grain remains visible through every shade. Despite their precise, geometric shapes, each piece feels organic and tactile — a modern study in the meeting of craft and module, of geometry and grain.

Eight distinct silhouettes, one consistent diameter. Every Junit element is turned to a 12 cm diameter (Ø 4.7"), so the modules read as a coherent family on the ceiling — only the heights and silhouettes change. Models A and C are tall, vertical pieces; B, D, E, F, G, and H are shorter, varied geometric forms. Each hangs on its own cable for a composed, multi-element pendant arrangement.

Eight Colour Tones
Wood grain remains visible in every colour. The pigment is applied as a thin layer and sealed under a clear varnish — so even on the deepest tones (Black, Red Brown), the structure of the ash wood reads through. The result is a piece that looks both pigmented and unmistakably natural.

Materials & Craft
Three Pillars
Hand-Turned Ash Wood
Each element is turned by hand on a lathe from solid ash — selected for its strength, fine grain, and pale, even colour. The hand-turning leaves subtle gestural variation across the eight forms while keeping every element to a precise 12 cm diameter.
Pigment + Clear Varnish
A thin layer of colour pigment is applied to the wood, then sealed under a clear protective varnish. The varnish lets the natural grain remain visible through every tone — the result is a finish that reads as both colourful and natural, never opaque.
White Glass Diffuser
Each wood element houses a small white glass diffuser at the base — softening the bulb's output into a warm, even glow. The glass remains discreet, framed by the wood, contributing light without competing for attention.

Installation
Setup Notes
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for safe mounting, wiring, and grounding.
- Flat ceilings only. Junit's canopy plate requires a level mounting surface — sloped or vaulted ceilings are not compatible.
- Unbox carefully. The wood elements are protected for shipping but should be handled with clean, dry hands to preserve the varnish surface.
- Install E26 or E27 base bulbs (sold separately). For best results, choose warm white LED bulbs (2700K–3000K, 6–8 W) — they pair beautifully with the white glass diffuser and the wood tones, and produce minimal heat.
- Cable lengths. Each pendant ships with a 150 cm (59") cable. To create a varied composition with multiple Junit elements at different heights, specify custom drop lengths for each individual element when ordering.
- For dimming, pair a dimmable LED bulb with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit.
- The wood elements attach last — handle by the body, not by the cable. Tighten only by hand; over-tightening can stress the wood or the cable connection.

Which Model should I choose?
All eight models share the same 12 cm diameter. They differ in height and silhouette: A (36 cm) and C (42 cm) are tall, vertical pieces — the most commanding profiles, suited to higher ceilings or as a single statement drop. B (23 cm) is a compact, broad form. D, E, F, G, and H are all 25 cm tall but with different geometric silhouettes (cone, dome, ring, ellipse, column) — choose by the form that resonates most with your space, or compose several together for a richly varied installation.
How do I compose a multi-element installation?
Start by mixing height tiers: pair a tall vertical (A or C) with shorter forms (B, D, E, F, G, or H) for a layered, gallery-like composition. Three to five elements works well for dining tables and kitchen islands; seven to eight pieces creates a stairwell or open-plan statement. Vary the cable lengths so the bases don't all sit at the same line — this is what gives Junit its characteristic, lived-in rhythm. For colour, mixing two or three tones reads more deliberately than using all eight in different colours.
Which colour should I choose?
Every Junit colour is applied as a thin pigment layer beneath a clear varnish, so the wood grain remains visible regardless of the tone. White, Pink, and Brown are quiet, neutral choices; Blue, Red, and Green are saturated statements; Red Brown reads as a deep, warm timber tone; Black is graphic and architectural while still showing the grain. For a multi-element composition, mixing tones (e.g. Black + Brown + Pink) creates a richer arrangement than a single uniform colour.
Can I order multiple elements together?
Yes — Junit is designed to be composed. Many customers order three to seven elements at varied heights for a multi-pendant arrangement over a dining table, kitchen island, or stairwell. When ordering, list each element you want (Model + colour) and the desired cable length for each, so we can prepare a coordinated set.
Can I specify different cable lengths for each pendant?
Yes — and we strongly recommend it for multi-element installations. Each pendant ships with a standard 150 cm (59") cable, but custom lengths are available on request. Varied drop heights produce the most visually interesting compositions, especially over dining tables or in entry halls.
What bulbs should I use?
Bulbs are sold separately. The fixture takes E26 or E27 base bulbs. We recommend warm white dimmable LED bulbs (2700K–3000K, 6–8 W) — they pair beautifully with the white glass diffuser and the natural wood tones, run cool, and work with dimmer switches.
Is it dimmable?
Yes. Junit is compatible with ordinary household switches and with dimmers. Install dimmable LED bulbs and pair with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch — dimmed low, the warm wood tones glow particularly well.
How do I care for the wood?
As a natural wood product with a clear-varnish finish, Junit is robust but benefits from a few simple habits. Dust with a soft dry microfiber cloth. Avoid damp cloths, solvents, and abrasives — they can damage the varnish. Keep the fixture away from prolonged moisture, direct heat sources (radiators, vents), and direct sunlight, which can fade the pigment over time.
Can I install on a sloped ceiling?
No. The Junit canopy requires a flat mounting surface, and the cable needs to drop vertically for the geometry to read correctly. Sloped ceilings are not compatible.
Can I use it on both 110V and 220V circuits?
Yes. The fixture supports full-range AC 110–240V and is certified for use in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East — no additional transformer required. Just pair it with E26 or E27 bulbs rated for your local voltage.
Can I install it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. Junit is IP20-rated for dry indoor use only — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, covered porches, or any outdoor environment. Beyond the IP rating, the wood material itself is not designed for humid or wet conditions.
