01 Overview Clusters of Distorted Spheres
A single Melt is a statement. A cluster of them becomes a sculpture — infinite reflections, warped geometries, a constellation of molten light overhead.
The Melt Round Pendant System gathers the best-selling Melt pendants into suspended clusters anchored by a single round ceiling canopy. Each configuration — from a compact three-head cluster to a dramatic sixteen-head composition — plays with reflections, spacing, and visual rhythm, turning an ordinary dining-room ceiling into a sculptural centrepiece. The round canopy is the unifying element: all heads drop from a single circular mounting plate, making installation clean and the composition feel considered rather than scattered.

For clustered configurations, we recommend pairing a warm frame (Gold or Rose Gold) with a warm shade (Gold), or a cool frame (Silver or Smoky) with mirror shades for a more graphic composition.

05 Materials & Craft Three Pillars
Metallised Shell Orbs
Each orb is a rigid metal and polymer shell, coated with a high-sheen metallic finish. The surface reads as molten distortion frozen in form — visibly warped, optically rich. Available in three sizes (Ø 18, Ø 28, Ø 38 cm) combined within each cluster.
Round Ceiling Canopy
A single round ceiling canopy — matched to the orb finish — anchors the entire cluster from one central mounting point. Cleaner than multi-canopy systems, and easier for your electrician to install correctly.
Cable & Cord
Each orb is supplied with a 150 cm (59″) cable. Custom lengths — different drops for different orbs — can be specified on request, ideal for stairwells, layered compositions, and dramatic height variation.
A note on craft. Faint traces of the mould may be visible on the underside of each Melt orb — the honest signature of the forming process. This is an intrinsic characteristic of production and not a defect. The underside is not visible during normal use.

08 Installation Setup Notes
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for safe mounting, wiring, and grounding. The larger the cluster (11/13/16 heads), the more important professional installation becomes.
- Flat ceilings only. The round canopy requires a level mounting plane — sloped or vaulted ceilings are not compatible.
- Verify junction box capacity. The smaller configurations (3–7 heads) mount to a standard junction box. The larger clusters (11, 13, 16 heads) are substantial and require a reinforced box rated for the weight — confirm with your electrician before install.
- Each orb ships with a 150 cm (59″) cable. For dramatic compositions, request varied drop lengths when ordering — different heights within the same cluster creates a layered, sculptural effect.
- Install one E26/E27 bulb per orb — the head count of your configuration = the number of bulbs you need. A warm white LED (2700K–3000K, 5–8 W) gives the most flattering glow through the metallised shells.
- For dimming, pair dimmable LED bulbs with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit.
- Unpack carefully — each orb is cushioned individually. Hang the canopy first, then attach each orb in sequence, working from the centre outward.
09 Questions Frequently Asked
How is the System different from the single Melt Pendant?
The single Melt Pendant is one orb on its own ceiling rose — a solo statement. The System gathers multiple orbs (from 3 to 16) under a single round canopy — creating a cluster composition that functions as a sculptural whole. The orbs themselves are identical; the System is the multi-orb arrangement plus the unifying round canopy.
Which configuration should I choose?
Scale by room and ceiling height. 3 heads (Ø 40 canopy) suits a breakfast nook or small dining. 5 heads (Ø 50 canopy) works over most dining tables or entryways. 7 heads (Ø 60 canopy) is a confident dining-room anchor. 11 heads (Ø 80 canopy) is a statement for grand dining or open-plan living. 13 heads and especially 16 heads (Ø 100 canopy) are architectural-scale pieces for stairwells, double-height entries, and gallery-like spaces.
Can you make a custom configuration? (e.g. 20 heads)
Yes — configurations beyond the seven standard clusters can be produced on request. We regularly make 20-head and larger arrays, custom-shaped arrangements, and architectural commissions. Please email us with your desired head count, orb size mix, space dimensions, and target ceiling height. We'll confirm feasibility, lead time, and pricing.
How many combinations of frame and shade are there?
Sixteen. The metal frame/canopy comes in four finishes (Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, Smoky Grey), and the orb shade comes in four colours (Silver, Gold, Red, Smoky Grey) — all four-by-four combinations are available. Please specify both your preferred metal finish and shade colour when ordering.
Are bulbs included? How many do I need?
No bulbs are included. Each orb takes one E26 or E27 bulb, so the number of bulbs equals your head count (3 for 3-head, 11 for 11-head, etc.). We recommend warm white dimmable LEDs (2700K–3000K, 5–8 W each) for the most flattering molten glow through the metallised shells.
Is the System dimmable?
Yes. The System is compatible with standard household switches and dimmers. Install dimmable LED bulbs in each orb and pair with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch. A dimmed cluster reads as a glowing constellation overhead — particularly beautiful at the larger head counts.
Can I install on a sloped ceiling?
No. The System is designed for flat ceilings only. The round canopy needs a level mounting plane, and the cables need to drop vertically for the cluster to sit correctly.
Can I request different cable lengths within one cluster?
Yes, and we strongly encourage it for larger clusters. Varying the drop lengths of individual orbs — some higher, some lower — creates a layered, sculptural, non-uniform composition that feels much more intentional than uniform drops. Please list your preferred length for each orb when ordering.
Why are there faint marks on the bottom of the orbs?
Those are traces of the mould used to form each orb — an intrinsic signature of the production process, not a defect. They sit on the underside of each orb, not visible during normal use.
Are there different versions of the Melt orb?
Yes. The Melt orb has been refined across multiple production iterations. If you have a preference for a specific version, please indicate it when ordering — otherwise, we will ship whichever version is currently in stock.
Can I install it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The System is IP20-rated for dry indoor use only — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, covered porches, or any outdoor installation.
