Do I need to buy a bulb separately?
Yes. The lamp ships without a bulb. Buy any E26 or E27 base bulb up to 60W incandescent (or 15W LED equivalent).
How much light comes through the shade?
The perforations let about 40% of bulb output pass through as direct light; the rest bounces off the brass interior. Darker rooms may feel dim on 40W.
Will the brass tarnish?
Yes, over months to years it will develop a patina. This is normal. You can polish it back to shine or let it age.
