The Idris Wabi-Sabi Table Lamp pairs a tactile, porous stone base with a softly veined alabaster globe, so light diffuses through the stone's own natural texture. Natural veining makes each fixture one-of-a-kind. It's a compact accent lamp well suited to a bedroom nightstand, an entryway console, or a living room reading nook.

Can I replace the LED?
No. The LED is fully built into the fixture and can't be replaced. It has an average lifespan of about 50,000 hours before needing replacement of the fixture itself.
What does "three-color changing light" mean?
The integrated LED can switch between three light color settings, so you can choose the tone that suits your space or mood.
What's the USB port for?
The built-in USB port at the base lets you charge a phone or small device while the lamp is plugged in.
Are the holes and cracks on the base a defect?
No. Small surface holes and cracks are a natural characteristic of this porous stone and don't affect the lamp's durability or how it works.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the stone and alabaster with a dry cloth. Always unplug before cleaning, and avoid water or abrasive cleaners on the stone.
Stone thatholds the light
Travertine is a limestone laid down by mineral springs, layer over layer, with gas bubbles trapped inside. We cut it, shape it by hand and leave those pores open, so every lamp carries the record of how its stone was made.

From block to lamp
Every piece in the series goes through the same four stages in the workshop.
01Choosing the block
Blocks are sorted by tone and pore density. Stone with deep cracks or large voids is set aside, since it can't hold a thin wall.
02Cutting
Water-cooled saws cut each block into slabs, discs and cylinders. The direction of the cut decides whether the shade shows stripes or clouds.
03Shaping by hand
Shades are turned, carved and drilled one at a time. Edges are rounded off by hand so the stone feels soft, not sharp.
04Finishing and fitting
Surfaces are ground smooth and polished, with the pores left open. Each shade is then fitted with its hardware and lit before it ships.

Travertine forms in horizontal bands. Cut across them or along them, and the same block gives two completely different surfaces.

A fold cut into solid stone. On Kennett, the bulb hides behind a carved flap, so light spills down the wall with no visible source.
