Travertine wall sconce with dual frosted glass shades casting light up and down.
The Malta is a vertical wall sconce in travertine with two frosted glass globes—one positioned mid-fixture, one lower—each with its own light source. The upward and downward glow creates ambient background lighting without glare, suitable for bedside, hallway, or accent wall duty. Check ceiling height: the longest version runs 47 inches, so measure your wall space before ordering.

Natural stone with visible texture variation. Each piece differs in pattern and tone. Durable, low-maintenance material that pairs with wood and metal finishes.
Dual frosted shades
Two separate G9 sockets, one globe mid-fixture, one below. Each operates on the same wall switch. Soft diffused light, no harsh shadows.

Does this wall sconce need a dimmer?
No. It works with standard wall switches only and cannot be dimmed. Each G9 bulb brightness is fixed by the bulb you choose.
Can I install this myself or do I need an electrician?
Professional hardwired installation is required. This is not a plug-in fixture—it connects directly to your home electrical system.
What happens if the travertine pattern in my lamp doesn't match the photos?
Travertine is a natural stone with unique veining and tone in every piece. Variation is normal and part of the material's character. Your fixture will be authentic travertine, not an exact photo match.
How bright are two G9 bulbs side by side?
Brightness depends on the bulbs you install. Two 4W LED G9 bulbs (warm white) create soft ambient light suitable for bedside or accent; two 40W halogen bulbs will be significantly brighter. Test bulb wattage in one socket first if unsure.

Stone thatholds the light
Travertine is a limestone laid down by mineral springs, layer over layer, with gas bubbles trapped inside. We cut it, shape it by hand and leave those pores open, so every lamp carries the record of how its stone was made.

From block to lamp
Every piece in the series goes through the same four stages in the workshop.
01Choosing the block
Blocks are sorted by tone and pore density. Stone with deep cracks or large voids is set aside, since it can't hold a thin wall.
02Cutting
Water-cooled saws cut each block into slabs, discs and cylinders. The direction of the cut decides whether the shade shows stripes or clouds.
03Shaping by hand
Shades are turned, carved and drilled one at a time. Edges are rounded off by hand so the stone feels soft, not sharp.
04Finishing and fitting
Surfaces are ground smooth and polished, with the pores left open. Each shade is then fitted with its hardware and lit before it ships.

Travertine forms in horizontal bands. Cut across them or along them, and the same block gives two completely different surfaces.

A fold cut into solid stone. On Kennett, the bulb hides behind a carved flap, so light spills down the wall with no visible source.
