05Materials & CraftThree Pillars
Mulberry Paper
Fine white paper, hand-pasted onto the iron ribs. Translucent enough to diffuse light into a soft, evenly distributed glow — warm, ambient, never harsh.
Iron Frame
Slim black iron ribs provide the structure and silhouette. Matte finish, subtle visible texture through the paper when illuminated from within.
Hand-Bonded
Each shade is individually assembled and pasted by skilled artisans. Small traces of the bonding process are part of the finished object's character.

08InstallationSetup & Wiring
- Assemble the iron frame first, then carefully slide the mulberry paper shade over the ribs — follow the step-by-step installation video above for your size (10A or 14A).
- Install an E26 or E27 bulb (sold separately). A warm white LED bulb (2700K–3000K) gives the most flattering glow through the paper shade.
- Plug into a standard wall outlet. The 150 cm cord includes an inline on/off switch. The fixture ships with your chosen regional plug (US, UK, AU, or EU) — specify at checkout so it arrives ready for your local outlet.
- When replacing the bulb, ensure the lamp is unplugged and the bulb has cooled completely. Handle the paper shade with clean, dry hands.

09QuestionsFrequently Asked
Which plug type should I choose?
Please choose the plug type that matches your local outlets at checkout: US plug (North America, Japan), UK plug (United Kingdom, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore), AU plug (Australia, New Zealand, China), or EU plug (most of continental Europe). The lamp itself supports full-range AC 110–240V, so only the plug shape needs to match — no transformer is required.
Is a light bulb included?
No. We recommend a warm white LED (2700K–3000K, 5–8W) for the most flattering glow through the paper shade, and to keep heat output low.
Why are there small glue marks on the edge of my lampshade?
Minor glue traces along the edges are inherent to this traditional craft and are considered normal — not a quality defect. Each shade is subtly different as a result.
How do I connect the wires correctly?
Inside the lamp's socket there are numbered terminal holes. Connect the black wire to hole number 2, and the white wire to hole number 3. See the wiring diagram in Section 08 above, and the installation video for your model.
They are two different silhouettes. The 10A is wider and shorter (Dia 50cm x H 120cm), with a more grounded, organic presence. The 14A is slimmer and taller (Dia 33cm x H 162cm) — a vertical accent that reads almost as a sculpture. Both use the same frame language, mulberry paper, and hardware.
Yes. Just pair it with a bulb rated for your local voltage.
The lamp itself has a simple inline on/off switch. To dim the light, install a dimmable LED bulb and plug the lamp into a wall outlet controlled by a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp does not have a built-in dimmer.
No. The mulberry paper shade is sensitive to moisture and humidity — avoid bathrooms, kitchens with high steam exposure, covered porches, or any outdoor environment. Also keep the shade away from radiators and direct heat sources.
How do I clean the paper shade?
Dust very gently with a soft, dry brush (a camel-hair paintbrush or a feather duster works well). Do not use water, cleaning sprays, or damp cloths on the paper. Handle with clean, dry hands to avoid staining.

Authentic Washi
Hand-stretched paper showcasing natural, unrepeatable details.
Weightless Design

The Craft of Light
Shaped by Time, Finished by Hand
A quiet dedication to traditional techniques. Each lantern is born from natural materials and shaped by artisans who treat light as a living medium.
-
01
Harvesting the Fibre
Raw mulberry (kozo) bark is meticulously washed and refined, stripping away the harshness to reveal pure, resilient strands.
-
02
Sculpting the Paper
Suspended in pure water, the fibers are gently gathered using a traditional bamboo screen, forming a flawless, delicate veil.
-
03
Natural Curing
Resting on wooden boards, the sheets air-dry naturally, locking in the inherent warmth and strength of the washi.
-
04
Shaping the Silhouette
A slender bamboo armature is bent into shape, providing the quiet, weightless skeleton onto which the paper is seamlessly wrapped.
-
05
The Final Glow
Carefully wired and inspected by the maker’s eye, ensuring the light diffuses with perfect serenity before it reaches your home.
The Light
Light that floats
Filtered through fine handmade washi, direct light is gently softened into a warm, diffused glow. Weightless and calm, each lantern seems to breathe quietly in the air, bringing a serene, restorative presence to the room.
- Soft diffusion for a comfortable, glare-free glow
- Restorative warm light that wraps the room in comfort
- Versatile enough to serve as ambient or accent lighting

In Detail
In the Texture, a World of Its Own
Held to the light, the character of the material comes alive. Slender mulberry fibres weave freely through every inch of washi, supple bamboo ribs trace the lantern's full silhouette, and warm-toned hardware finishes each joint with a gentle touch.
These are the details worth leaning in for: the soft grain left by hand-made paper, the seamless lines where panels meet, and the quiet, enduring weight of a fixture made to last. Beauty rests in the smallest things.

Handcrafted, One by One
Shaped by Hand, Woven with Time
Every shade is hand-shaped by skilled artisans, with time and full attention worked into each one. In an age that prizes efficiency, it is the mark of the hand that matters here — so no two lanterns share exactly the same texture, fold, or quality of light. More than a source of light, each is a piece of art that still carries the warmth of the hands that made it.
