Spezifikationen
Steel bends.
Silk settles.
Light glows.
Six silhouettes built the same way the originals were: a single wire armature, hand-wrapped in a fine silk-fiber cord, cured into a shape that holds its own light.

Watch the collection glow
One wire, wound by hand
Every shape in this collection begins as a single steel wire, spun on a jig until it holds the exact curve the design calls for — a saucer, an ellipse, a sphere.
Over that frame, a fine silk-fiber cord is wound in one continuous pass, then cured to a warm, paper-like skin that scatters light instead of just shading it. It's the same construction logic mid-century designers reached for — visible structure, honest material, nothing hidden.
No two lamps wind up identical. The hand in the winding is the point.
From wire to warm light — four steps
Spin the frame
A single steel wire is spun on a jig until it holds the design's exact curve.
Wind the fiber
A fine silk-fiber cord is wound over the frame in one continuous, unbroken pass.
Cure the skin
The wound fiber is cured into a firm, paper-like shell that holds its shape unaided.
Fit and finish
Socket, canopy, and finish are fitted by hand and checked for even light output.

What it's made of
Steel wire armature, hand-wound in a silk-fiber cord, cured to a firm self-supporting shell. Finished canopy and hardware in matte black or brushed brass.
Dimmable with a compatible dimmer switch. Indoor use only.
Keeping it right
- Dust with a dry, soft brush or a hair dryer on cool — never a damp cloth on the shade.
- Keep away from direct moisture and high humidity.
- Use bulbs at or below the rated wattage to protect the fiber shell.
- Handle the shade by its frame, not the fiber surface.

A shape from 1952
George Nelson's original bubble lamps used a self-webbing plastic spray over steel wire — fast, light, and softly luminous. Our version reinterprets the idea in mulberry silk fiber, giving the same paper-thin glow a warmer, more tactile surface.
Six shapes, one language
Nelson Bubble Pendant Lamp A
Wide and shallow, this shape spreads a soft, even wash of light across a table below.
Nelson Bubble Pendant Lamp B
An elongated form that reads taller and narrower — built for stairwells and dining niches.
Nelson Bubble Pendant Lamp C
A true sphere — the most even glow in the collection, in either direction.
Taraxacum Suspension Lamp
A denser web of wire and fiber, radiating from a central core — the collection's largest, most sculptural piece.
Nelson Wall Sconce
The same wire-and-silk build, flattened to a back plate — for hallways and low-clearance walls.
Nelson Table Lamp
A bubble shade set on a slim tripod — sized for a console or a nightstand.

Before you order
What's the silk-fiber shell actually made of?
A fine cord wound over a steel wire frame and cured into a firm, paper-like shell — the same construction logic as the mid-century originals, updated with a more durable fiber blend.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with any compatible dimmer switch. We recommend a warm-dim LED bulb to keep the shell's color true at low output.
How is Pendant A different from B and C?
Same construction, three profiles: A is wide and shallow (Saucer), B is elongated (Ellipse), C is a true sphere (Ball) — pick by the spread of light and the ceiling height you're working with.
Can it hang outdoors or in a bathroom?
No — this collection is rated for indoor, dry-location use only. The fiber shell isn't sealed against moisture.
