تم إنشاء تصميمات مويل الشبيهة بالحشرات من الخمسينيات من القرن الماضي كرد فعل على التصميمات الإيطالية الأثقل والأكثر ثقلاً في ذلك الوقت. أراد مويل إنشاء تركيبات إضاءة حديثة ذات خطوط دقيقة وحضور بصري مذهل. يُعد شمعدان الحائط ذو الذراع الواحدة أحد مصابيح سيرج الأكثر تنوعًا.
يبلغ طول الذراع 47 بوصة، لذا يمكن تسليط الضوء على أجزاء مختلفة كثيرة من الغرفة. علاوة على ذلك، يتمتع الظل بدوران مستقل للسماح بمزيد من المرونة.
