Formakami pendant lights combine round paper shades in stacked pairs or trios, reaching up to 27.6″ wide. The open bottom design maximizes downward light output, making them effective as kitchen island pendant lighting or living room focal points. Check your ceiling height and whether you want hardwired installation before ordering.

Hand-formed rice paper diffuses light evenly. Black oak rings at top and bottom create visual rhythm.

No shade underneath means light flows downward unobstructed. Brighter output than fully enclosed fixtures.

Can I use this as a plug in pendant light?
No. Formakami is hardwired only—requires ceiling wiring and professional installation. It is not a plug-in pendant.
How much light does it actually put out?
Light output depends on bulb wattage. The open bottom directs light downward with no obstruction. For dining tables or islands, pair with 40–60W equivalent LED bulbs.
Which size works best over a kitchen island?
JH4 (19.7″) or JH5 Large (27.6″) work well. Match width to island length; hang 30–36″ above countertop. Combinations look striking over longer islands.
Do I need an electrician to install this?
Yes. Hardwired installation requires ceiling wiring and a qualified electrician. Not suitable for sloped ceilings or standard flat roof boxes.
