Hot-blown glass sphere distorts into a mesmerizing mirror when off, glowing furnace when on.
Melt is a table light with a hand-melted glass sphere that sits 16.9 inches tall on a 11-inch-wide metal base—substantial enough to anchor a desk or nightstand. The glass shifts from mirror-smooth reflection to an amber glow that fills the room with warm, refracted light. Place it where you need task light but also want a sculptural object; check your bulb clearance in tight shelving.
Each sphere is hand-melted and distorted, so no two are identical. Reflects light as a mirror when off.
Rose Gold, Chrome, or Gold. Hollow cylinder houses the socket and holds the 150cm cord with in-line switch.
Wire switch (in-cord) or light body switch (on the base itself). Light body switch costs $20 more.
What is the shade made of?
The sphere is hand-melted glass, and the base is metal available in Rose Gold, Chrome, or Gold. Each glass sphere is unique because it's hand-distorted during the melt.
Can I dim this light?
Yes, triac dimming is available as a build option. Choose your dimmer switch type when you order.
Can I change the cord length?
The standard cord is 150cm (59 inches). We build to order, so a different length can be made to suit your space—just let us know what you need.
Will this work on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
This is a table light designed for a flat surface like a desk or nightstand, not a ceiling mount. If you need a custom suspension build instead, contact our support team at support@vakkerlight.com and tell us your space.
Does it run on US household power?
Yes. It accepts universal voltage (AC 110–240V) and comes with a universal plug adapter; just specify your country at checkout. The fixture takes any standard E26 or E27 bulb up to 60W.
Is it approved for US use and do you ship here?
Yes to both. We ship free to all 50 states. This fixture is certified for North America and complies with US electrical standards.
