A molten distortion, frozen in form — Melt is mildly hallucinogenic when lit, a polished mirror sculpture when off.
The Melt Pendant captures the look of hot-blown glass at its most fluid moment and freezes it in metal and polymer — it is not actual glass. The molten silhouette is built from a rigid metal-and-PVC shell with a high-sheen metallic coating, paired with a matching ceiling rose and a 150 cm cable. Available in four diameters and four metallic finishes, Melt sits comfortably over a dining table, kitchen island, entryway, or stairwell.

05 Materials & Craft Three Pillars
Metallised Shell
A rigid metal and PVC shell — formed to capture a molten distortion frozen in shape — coated with a high-sheen metallic finish. The result is the optical richness of hot-blown glass, with the durability and dimensional stability of a manufactured object.
Matching Ceiling Rose
The supplied ceiling rose is finished to match the body exactly — Silver, Gold, Red, or Smoky Grey — so the full installation reads as a continuous, considered object rather than a pendant attached to a generic plate.
Cable & Cord
The standard suspension cable is 150 cm (59″) long. Custom lengths can be specified upon request — ideal for high ceilings, stairwells, double-height rooms, or layered cluster compositions.
A Note On Craft
Faint traces of the mould may be visible on the underside of each Melt — the honest signature of the forming process. This is an intrinsic characteristic of how the molten silhouette is captured in solid form, not a defect, and the underside is not visible during normal overhead use.

08 Installation Setup Notes
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for safe mounting, wiring, and grounding of the ceiling rose.
- Flat ceilings only. The Melt is not compatible with sloped or vaulted ceilings — the ceiling rose requires a level mounting plane.
- The standard suspension cable is 150 cm (59″) long. If you need a longer or shorter drop for a stairwell, double-height room, or custom installation, please request your preferred length when placing your order.
- Install an E26 or E27 bulb (sold separately). A warm white LED bulb (2700K–3000K, 5–10 W) gives the most flattering glow, runs cool, and works well with dimmers.
- For dimming, pair a dimmable LED bulb with a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch on the wall circuit. The lamp itself supports full-range AC 110–240V worldwide.
09 Questions Frequently Asked
Is the Melt actually made of glass?
No. The Melt looks like hot-blown glass but is a rigid metal-and-PVC shell with a high-sheen metallic coating. The molten silhouette stays exactly as formed, year after year — actual blown glass at this scale would be far more fragile.
What does Melt look like on versus off?
Illuminated, Melt produces a mildly hallucinogenic glow — like hot-blown glass caught mid-flow. Unlit, the same sphere reads as a polished, mirror-finish sculpture that gently warps the room around it.
Which size is right for my dining table?
For a 6-seat dining table, the Ø 38 cm is the standard choice — mounted at 75–90 cm above the surface. For 8+ seats, two Ø 28 cm in a line or one Ø 48 cm centred works well. The Ø 18 cm is too small for solo overhead use; pair it in clusters of 3–7.
Which finish is most versatile?
Smoky Grey works in nearly any palette. Silver is the most neutral and reflective, Gold is the warmest, Red is the most dramatic statement.
What bulb does it take, and is it dimmable?
One E26 or E27 bulb (sold separately). Recommended: warm white LED, 2700K–3000K, 5–10 W. Yes, dimmable — install a dimmable LED bulb and pair with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer switch.
Can I order a custom cable length?
Yes. Standard cable is 150 cm (59″). Custom lengths — both shorter and longer — can be specified at checkout, ideal for stairwells, double-height rooms, or staggered cluster compositions.
What ceiling height is needed for the largest Ø 48 cm size?
At least 270 cm (8'10") is recommended for the Ø 48 cm to read with proper proportion above a dining table or island. Lower than 250 cm, it will feel cramped. Stairwells and double-height rooms suit any of the four sizes.
Can I install Melt on a sloped ceiling?
No. The ceiling rose requires a flat, level mounting plane and the cable needs to drop vertically. Sloped-ceiling adapters are not supplied or guaranteed compatible.
Why are there faint marks on the underside?
Those are mould traces — an intrinsic characteristic of the forming process, not a defect. The underside is not visible during normal overhead use.
How do I clean the metallic finish?
Dust gently with a soft dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen with water only (no solvents, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners) and dry immediately. Avoid paper towels and scouring pads.
Can it be installed in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. Melt is IP20-rated for dry indoor use only — not for bathrooms, wet rooms, saunas, covered porches, or outdoors. Also avoid mounting directly above cooktops where steam and oil splatter occur.
Will customs duties be charged on delivery?
The price at checkout does not include customs duties, local taxes, VAT, or import costs — these may be collected by the courier on delivery, depending on your country.
